Fuel Filter Service

Fuel filters are more important than ever to the proper functioning of your engine. Fuel injected cars are far less tolerant of gas problems than the older carbureted cars.  If the filter gets clogged with contaminants, it can starve the engine for fuel.  This will cause the engine not to function at its top efficiency while it struggles to draw enough fuel to continue running.  If it fails, it can release debris into injectors, causing expensive repairs.

Also, a restricted filter will stress the electric fuel pump, leading to early failure. As a fuel filter slowly becomes clogged, the restricted fuel flow could lead to poor acceleration, reduced gas mileage and reduced engine performance.

Generally, your fuel filter should be replaced once a year or at no more than 30,000 miles.
